Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that neither midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin or winger Memphis Depay are currently in the running for selection as the saga around their future continues.

Both look set for futures away from Old Trafford with Schneiderlin reportedly in-line for a medical at Everton and Depay garnering plenty of interest, also from Toffees boss Ronald Koeman.

Mourinho is preparing his side for their FA Cup third round tie with Championship side Reading on Saturday afternoon, and speaking ahead of the game revealed his plans for the duo:

“Their situation is exactly the same – both of them,” said the former Chelsea boss.

“I will allow them to leave the club if the right offer comes. Until this moment, no.

“Is this a good situation? No. Why not? Because I don’t think about them as options in this moment.

“In normal conditions they would be selected for the match and they are not because we are waiting.”

Neither of the Red Devils, both signed by former manager Louis Van Gaal, have featured heavily since the arrival of Mourinho in Manchester, with the former Southampton man earning three starts whilst his Dutch teammate has had just the one.
