Sunderland are hoping to bring in Robbie Brady and Phil Jagielka to fire up their bid to beat the drop.

According to a report in the Northern Echo Davie Moyes has opened talks with Norwich and Everton to bring the duo to the Stadium of Light.

Brady is a target for a number of clubs but Sunderland are hopeful of convincing the Ireland internationalist to move to the north east.

With his ability to play at left-back or left midfield and delivery from set-pieces Moyes is keen to push the boat out to secure a deal for 25-year-old.

Norwich look unlikely to bounce straight back to the Premier League with Alex Neil likely to sacrifice Brady to strengthen his side elsewhere.

Jagielka won’t need much convincing to join up with the manager that took him to Everton from Sheffield United.

The former England defender is believed to have held talks with Ronald Koeman about his future are is expected to leave Goodison Park as soon as a new defender is brought in.
