Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Senegal international defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to the Express.

The Premier League side, who defeated Huddersfield Town 1-0 away from home on the last day of the 2017-18 top-flight campaign yesterday, have been strongly linked with attempting to lure the Napoli star to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The 26-year-old, who has 22 international caps for his country, has scored five goals and provided one assist in 44 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A side this season, who will finish the term second behind champions Juventus.

Koulibaly, who joined the Italian outfit back in July 2014 following his reported £6.5m move from Genk, has netted eight goals in 163 outings for the club overall.

However, the report claims The Gunners have identified the Senegalese centre-back as their top defensive transfer target ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

But, Napoli are said to have slapped a whopping £53m price tag on the defender, who is also understood to be attracting interest from Serie A rivals Juventus this summer.
