New Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel urged to sign Erling Haaland this summer, according to Paul Merson writing for the Daily Star

With games coming thick and fast, it’s been a rollercoaster start for Tuchel at Stamford Bridge, joining the club halfway through a grueling season.

Despite the positive performances, the former PSG man will be keen to put his own stamp in this Chelsea team when the transfer window comes back round in the summer.

Chelsea’s new man Tuchel has started well.

Due to the stature of the club, Tuchel will expect and hope to continue the trend of signing quality players to join the West London outfit.

One name that is being mentioned, is that of Erling Haaland, the Borussia Dortmund striker who seems to score goal after goal in any competition he plays in.

Speaking to the Daily Star, former Premier League player, Paul Merson shared his thoughts:

He said: “Of all the teams who are in for Erling Haaland, Chelsea are the ones who need him most.

“They have always been successful with someone who has a presence up front and Haaland has that. He’s going to score bundles wherever he goes.

“And if you buy him this summer, you still have the prospect of being able to sell him for a profit later down the line because of his age.
