Newcastle United have joined the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Benik Afobe.

The Premier League club have joined rivals Norwich City in the hunt for the former Arsenal forward, who only arrived at Molineux back in January.

The 22-year-old, who earned two international caps for the England Under-21s, finished as the country’s top goalscorer last season after netting 32 times in all competitions.

Newcastle are also reportedly still interested in England and Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin, although the Magpies are reluctant to meet the Championship club’s £15m valuation.
