Newcastle United are keen to sign Ismaila Sarr.

According to a report in The Chronicle the Metz winger is the subject of a £120.4m bid to take him to St James’ Park.

Picking up on a report in respected French newspaper L’Equipe it’s claimed that Sarr could be the wide player that Rafa Benitez has been searching for.

In January Rafa Benitez was left frustrated by the failure to sign Andros Townsend with brining in a genuine winger one of their summer priorities.

Sarr only made his Metz debut last season but has already picked up six caps for Senegal and is regarded as one of the top teenagers in the French game.

Benitez is keen to get business done early to give his squad as much time as possible to prepare for their return to the Premier League.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is expected to complete a season long loan deal over the weekend with Sarr the type of player capable of providing scoring chances for the striker who scored 26 times last season for Bristol City.
