Premier League-bound Newcastle United are part of a top-flight trio lining up a summer move for Manchester City outcast Fabian Delph, according to The Daily Star.

The England international moved to the Etihad Stadium back in 2015 after a successful few years at Aston Villa, although has struggled to nail down a first team spot under both Manuel Pellegrini and now Pep Guardiola, earning just 39 appearances in all competitions in two seasons.

And with injuries taking their toll and further signings likely at the Manchester club this summer, the 27-year-old looks set to fall even further down the Citizens’ pecking order and, at a pivotal stage in his career, he needs first team football.

And he may get that next season, as Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle, Sean Dyche’s Burnley, and Tony Pulis’ West Brom are all reportedly lining up a move for the former Leeds midfielder this summer.

Benitez’s Magpies will be returning to the top tier next season and need reinforcements to be competitive, while Dyche’s Clarets avoided relegation from the top-flight for the first time ever this term, yet will need to bolster their ranks ahead of next season.

And Baggies boss Pulis saw midfielder Darren Fletcher leave the club for Stoke City last week, and will need someone like Delph to come in and fill the hole vacated by the experienced Scotland international.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen where the £6.8 million-rated star (as per Transfermarkt) ends up this summer, but what does seem clear is that Delph’s testing two-year stint at City will be coming to an end in the near future.
