The Premier League returns on Boxing Day with all 20 sides in action between the 26th and 28th of December.

Chelsea face Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge with the pressure on Graham Potter to get a result after a dismal run of form prior to the World Cup, while Arsenal will be looking to cement their grip on top spot as they face West Ham in a huge London derby.

Elsewhere, Newcastle United will be looking to continue their fine start to the campaign when they travel to face Leicester City, who have improved their form after an abysmal start to the campaign.

Eddie Howe’s side have started the season superbly and currently sit third in the Premier League table behind only The Gunners and reigning champions Manchester City.

Despite his side’s strong start, it appears that the former Bournemouth boss is looking to bolster his squad in January.

According to The Mirror, The Magpies are readying an offer for Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic.

The American was in fine form for the USA as they reached the last 16 of the World Cup, but it has been a different story for him at Stamford Bridge.

Now, the player is reluctant to return to Stamford Bridge and once again be a fringe player, and Newcastle have emerged as potential suitors.

The USA were knocked out of the World Cup after a last 16 defeat to the Netherlands

The Magpies are intent on signing a winger during the upcoming January transfer window, and Pulisic would be a statement signing for the club.

Pulisic, 24, arrived in London from Borussia Dortmund back in 2019 but has struggled to maintain a regular starting spot throughout his time in England.

The winger has started just three league games so far this season, and Chelsea would reportedly allow the player to leave for around £40 million.

Newcastle would look to lower that asking price, while Arsenal and Manchester United are also believed to be interested in the player but both clubs would prefer a loan deal for the US international.

The player is believed to be open to the prospect of a move to St. James’ Park, but it remains to be seen whether or not a deal can be agreed between The Blues and Newcastle.

Brighton and Hove Albion’s Leandro Trossard and Leeds United’s Jack Harrison are believed to be other targets for Newcastle, who spent big over the summer with the likes of Sven Botman and Alexander Isak joining the club.
