Aleksandar Mitrovic has played up more than he’s performed since his move to St James’

Newcastle United players will be looking forward to slightly better Christmas as their fantastic victory over Liverpool would certainly have received Santa’s seal of approval.

But one man who has yet to get in Mr Claus’ good books, or the Magpies’ for that matter, is striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Serbian has picked up six yellows and one red card in his short time with the club, and now finds himself on the bench.

Additionally, he’s only scored two goals in 12 appearances, a poor return for someone who cost £14.5 million.
