Newcastle United are reportedly considering a last-minute deadline day approach for Costa Rica international Bryan Ovideo, according to the Mirror.

The Premier League side, who currently sit two points adrift of safety in the bottom three, want to take the Everton left-back on loan to help the Magpies stave off relegation come May.

The 25-year-old, who has 28 international caps for his country, has made just eight first-team appearances for the Toffees this season.

Newcastle were hopeful of re-signing Jose Enrique from Liverpool until the deal fell through earlier today, but Oviedo could become available having fallen down the pecking order at Goodison Park behind Leighton Baines and Brendan Galloway this term.

The report also suggests that West Brom are interested in the Costa Rican’s services.
