Newcastle United are reportedly weighing up a summer move for Poland international defender Kamil Glik, according to The Newcastle United Blog (via FanSided).

The Premier League side, who currently lie three points adrift of safety in the bottom three with just eight games remaining this campaign, are thought to scouting the Torino centre-half ahead of the forthcoming transfer window.

The 28-year-old; who has 39 international caps for his country and is expected to feature for Poland at Euro 2016 in France later this year, has made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Serie A outfit so far this season, providing two assists.

Glik, who stands tall at 6ft 3in, is currently the captain of the Italian club after arriving from Palermo back in July 2011.

The towering centre-half has scored 13 goals in 166 games for Torino since and despite having German citizenship, Glik choose to represent Poland and has become an integral part of the White Eagles’ national side.
