Newcastle United submit £4.5m offer for Senegal winger

Newcastle United have reportedly launched a £4.5m bid for Senegal international forward Henri Saivet.

The Premier League side, who lost 1-0 at Watford in the FA Cup on Saturday, are understood to have made an official approach to French outfit Bordeaux for their star winger this month.

The 25-year-old, who has five international caps for his country, has scored four goals in 27 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 club this season.

Despite Turkish giants Besiktas also said to be interested in the player’s services this month, Bordeaux’s president Jean-Louis Triaud has admitted that, “Things could evolve very quickly,” in regards to Saivet’s future at the club.
