Newcastle United are reportedly mulling over a £10m bid for England international Andros Townsend.

The Premier League outfit, who remain in the bottom three despite defeating in-form Liverpool 2-0 on Sunday, are keen to bring the out-of-favour Tottenham forward to St James’ Park during the forthcoming January transfer window.

The 24-year-old, who has nine international caps for the Three Lions, has played just 64 minutes of football in the English top-flight so far for Spurs this season.

In respect of Townsend dropping down the pecking order at White Hart Lane under boss Mauricio Pochettino this term; the winger has also lost his place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad, although he is desperate to seek a move elsewhere during the New Year period in an attempt to book his place in the Three Lions’ set-up that flies out to France next summer for Euro 2016.

Please god no. The very definition of headless chicken.

  2. I must respect Mr Pochettino decision regarding Mr Townsend. He sees him daily so must be in the best position to judge. I find it sad that Mr Townsend cannot find his old form for he is not the same since his injury. So, maybe a move would be best for all parties. I wish him all the best for the future I found him an exciting player to watch on his day.

I would just like to say that we do need another front man one that can also head a ball on set pieces.. I hope that Mr Levy does not sell Mr Kane to Man Utd as he has done in the past.

Keep up the good work Tottenham you are pleasure to watch.
