Lots of us like to play 5-a-side football in our spare time, but have you ever considered how the team you support would line-up if they were limited to five players?

Based on current form, and with a formation of one goalkeeper, one defender, two midfielders and one striker, we at Shoot thought it would be interesting to see who would make the grade for each Premier League outfit.

Here’s what we came up with for Norwich…

Goalkeeper:

John Ruddy

Like most teams, Ruddy is the only real choice having played in every league match this term.

Despite making a couple of high-profile errors, the Canaries stopper is usually very reliable, which is exactly what you want.

A decent communicator and possessing a real presence between the sticks, the ex-Everton man won’t be easy to beat.

Defender:

Russell Martin will lead from the back

Russell Martin

The Norwich skipper will offer the side tremendous leadership at the back.

As well as that, he’s a capable defender who is comfortable with and without the ball.

A determined character, the Scotland international has also shown that he could pop up with the odd goal to help his side.

Midfielders:

Wes Hoolahan

A very underrated player, Wes Hoolahan will be the chief creator in this side.

With five assists to his name, the Republic of Ireland international can certainly pick a telling pass, something that will be needed in tight small-sided games.

He also has the skill to take opponents out of the game, creating more space for those around him.

Robbie Brady

Robbie Brady has impressed since moving from Hull

Since arriving from Hull in the summer, Robbie Brady has proved that he deserved to keep his place in the Premier League.

Fantastic both on and off the ball, the Republic of Ireland star would provide the legs in the team and will relish his defensive duties as much as his responsibility in attacking situations.

Will never give the opposition a moment’s piece and will get on the scoresheet.

Striker:

Nathan Redmond

Because no Norwich striker has really starred this term, we’ve deployed winger Nathan Redmond in attack.

The England U-21 star has the pace and movement to worry his marker and he’ll be able to interchange with Brady and Hoolahan.

Although a natural wide man, the former Birmingham man is the Canaries’ top scorer so isn’t a risk in this position.
