Frank McParland is the man Nottingham Forest supremo Fawaz Al Hasawi wants to take over at the City Ground as Director of Football working alongside former Rangers colleague Mark Warburton according to reports in The Sun.

McParland is currently working at Ibrox as the Head of Recruitment but has reportedly been unhappy with a lack of resources and now faces an uncertain future with Warburton’s departure from the club and a new manager being lined up, one who may want to bring in his own backroom staff.

The Sun notes:

‘One source close to the Kuwaiti said’: “Fawaz wants to have a proper set-up in place and is keen on a director of football being named.

“But there are so many names about possible new managers that he is uncertain who to choose.”’

Forest recently suffered a 5-1 loss to Norwich City and caretaker boss Gary Brazil is increasingly unlikely to be offered the job on a permanent basis. Nigel Clough and Billy Davies have both been linked with a return to the City Ground, but there were reports Clough couldn’t reach an agreement with Al Hawasi while former manager Davies could still be an option, although in a managerial merry-go-round twist has also been linked with the Ibrox job.
