Sean Dyche is the short odds favourite to take over as manager of Crystal Palace.

According to a report in The Sun the Burnley boss has been backed down from 5/4 to 1/9 to replace Sam Allardyce.

Dyche has been at Burnley for five years during which he has twice won promotion to the Premier League and in the season just finished kept Burnley up after twice before following promotion with instant relegation.

Palace have been inundated with applications to take over as manager but have been looking for a British based boss ready to commit in the long term to match the models set by West Brom and Stoke.

Dyche has shown his commitment to Burnley but with the success of this season he faces a major rebuilding job with offers expected for a number of his key players.

At Palace he’d be given a far bigger budget to work on with the bonus of London being able to attract players to the club.
