Enjoying their first-ever campaign in the English top flight, Premier League newboys AFC Bournemouth are expected to be busy on transfer deadline day, with the Cherries heavily linked with a late move for former Swansea City star Jonathan de Guzman.

The 27-year-old, who has 14 international caps for Netherlands, scored seven goals in 36 appearances in all competitions for Serie A outfit Napoli last season.

However; the Dutch international is now deemed to surplus to requirements at the Italian club following the departure of former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez to Real Madrid, with Bournemouth favourites to land the attacking midfielder within the next 24 hours.

De Guzman, who made three appearances for Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, scored 15 goals in 93 appearances for Premier League rivals Swansea after agreeing two season-long loans from La Liga side Villarreal.
