Out-of-favour Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs is a summer target for Newcastle United, according to the Football Insider.

The left-back looks set to leave the Emirates at the end of the season after finding himself as second-choice to Nacho Monreal over the course of the past 18 months, with the Gunners keen to cash in while they can still command a significant fee for the 26-year-old.

However, any move for the England international will depend on the Magpies retaining their Premier League status – Rafa Benitez’s side are currently out of the bottom three on goal difference with two matches left to play, although Sunderland and Norwich City do have games in hand on the Toon Army.

Gibbs, who has been restricted to 15 appearances in the league this season, many of those from the substitutes’ bench, has made 208 outings in all competitions for Arsenal since making his debut in 2007, scoring six goals.
