Out-of-favour Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has reportedly been offered the chance to move to Ajax this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp after returning from an unsuccessful season-long spell with AC Milan, and is looking to secure a transfer away from Anfield before the window closes at the end of the month.

The Dutch outfit have just made it into the final qualifying round for the Champions League after finishing behind PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie last term, and are looking to boost their squad ahead of a potential fixture pile-up a European campaign causes.

The Italian, who has scored four goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool since joining from Milan in 2014, was left out of his club’s pre-season tour to America and worked to boost his fitness with the Under-21 squad back at Melwood.
