Owner tweets farewell to Nottingham Forest reign

Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi has revealed he is set to seal the long-awaited sale of the club, via Twitter.

The 48-year-old Kuwaiti took over the Championship outfit back in 2012, but yesterday tweeted fans goodbye and good luck ahead of an imminent £50m take over from a United States consortium, led by millionaire John Jay Moores.

In a series of tweets, Al Hasawi said, “I would like to wish all the supporters, the staff and the players all the best.

Forest currently lie 20th in the Championship table after their opening 15 league games, one point above the relegation zone, following last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Reading.
