Arsenal winger Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain is growing frustrated by the situation surrounding his future at The Emirates, according to The Mirror.

The former Southampton youngster, who followed in the footsteps of Theo Walcott when he swapped the south coast for north London in 2011, has just 18 months left to run on his current deal.

The Gunners boss, Arsene Wenger, had claimed that talks over a new contract for the England international had begun, however, The Mirror claim that this is not the case and Wenger’s comments are yet another annoyance for Chamberlain.

The 23-year-old has grabbed six goals and as many assists in 21 outings for the Gunners this season, and has been a solid choice on the wing for Wenger in the first half of the campaign.

However, deals for the likes of Hector Bellerin and the saga surrounding star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have seeming pushed Chamberlain’s deal further and further down Arsene Wenger’s to-do list.
