Crystal Palace face competition to sign Famara Diedhiou.

According to a report on TalkSPORT Freiburg, Malaga and Udinese are all on the trail of the Angers striker.

Palace had Diedhiou scouted during the second half of the season in which he managed eight goals from 28 appearances.

Sam Allardyce’s departure has delayed the process but the club now has to decide whether they want to push ahead with the signing or hold back and face the prospect of missing out on the 24-year-old.

Bringing in additional strike power was identified as a priority by Palace last season to ease the burden from top scorers Christian Benteke and Wifried Zaha who managed a combined 22 goals last season.

Despite being linked with a number of names since Allardyce departed the Palace board are determined to take their time to bring in the right candidate who has a long term commitment to the job.
