Carlos Pena is close to becoming Pedro Caixinha’s fourth Rangers signing.

According to a report in The Sun the midfielder’s agent is confident that his work permit application will be successful this week.

Pena arrived in Glasgow last Friday to undergo a medical with the deal now hinging on receiving a work permit.

Caixinha completed his third signing earlier today when Benfica winger Dalcio completed a season long loan with the new Ibrox boss starting to put his stamp on the squad.

Ryan Jack and Bruno Alves were signed last week with Caixinha determined to completely overhaul the squad that he inherited from Mark Warburton.

Pena has been described as a midfield playmaker and has been earmarked to line up alongside Jack in the centre of the park.

Further signings are in the pipeline with next season’s Rangers side certain to have a strong Latin feel with a base of Portuguese and Mexican players.
