Pep Guardiola must improve these 3 things at Man City in January

Defensive midfield area

This doesn’t necessarily have to mean bringing in new personnel, but City’s defensive midfield area against Tottenham was ruthlessly exposed.

Spurs’ high pressing game forced Fernando and Fernandinho into making wrong decisions in the middle of the park and, more importantly, restricted their passing game.

Guardiola must have been aware that Mauricio Pochettino would implement that plan, but his players didn’t really get to grips with it.

It’ll be something he needs to address as more teams will attempt to play the same way given Spurs’ success.
