Pep Guardiola must improve these 3 things at Man City in January

City haven’t been bad at the back in the early stages of the season, but Vincent Kompany’s persistent injuries must concern Guardiola with regard to his strength in depth in the centre-back department.

He’s currently playing Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones at centre-half, both of which have started the season well, but an injury or suspension to either of them and City could be in trouble.

They’ve been linked with a move for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci in January, so Guardiola clearly recognises that this is an area he needs to improve.
