Manager Mauricio Pochettino hailed Tottenham ace Mousa Dembele as a footballing “genius” following his superb display against North London rivals Arsenal on Sunday, according to the Evening Standard.

The 44-year-old, who becomes the first Spurs boss to remain undefeated against the Gunners in his first five top-flight meetings, was full of praise for the central midfielder as his team maintained their unbeaten record in the Premier League so far this season.

He said, “Dembele is a genius. He could play 20 only minutes against [Bayer] Leverkusen but today he was one of the best.

“We showed a strong performance from the whole team.

“It was a very competitive game and it was a very good game to watch.”

Dembele, 29, has provided one assist in eight appearances in all competitions for the North London outfit so far this term.

The Belgium international was pivotal in helping his team-mates claw back a point at the Emirates Stadium yesterday, as Harry Kane’s penalty cancelled out Kevin Wimmer’s first-half own goal.
