Manchester United are reportedly hopeful that midfielder Paul Pogba can help lure France international superstar Antoine Griezmann to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Record.
The Premier League side, who currently sit sixth in the English top-flight standings following last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Stoke City, have been continually linked with a mega-money move for the Atletico Madrid forward this summer.
The 25-year-old, who has 39 international caps for his country and starred for France as the reached the final of Euro 2016 last year, has scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 27 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit so far this season.
Griezmann, who is understood to have a €100m buy out clause in his current contract, is best friends with Red Devils star and fellow countryman Pogba.
United manager Jose Mourinho has identified the Atletico ace as his number one target ahead of the 2017-18 campaign as the ‘Special One’ looks to transform the club back into Premier League and Champions League contenders next term.
