Kylian Mbappe looks set to be at the centre of one of the biggest sagas of this summer’s transfer window.

The France international has reportedly informed Paris Saint-Germain that he will not extend his stay with the club, as reported by L’Equipe.

Mbappe’s current deal is therefore set to expire next summer, as opposed to 2025, which could prompt PSG to sell the superstar this summer.

Several clubs have been linked with the forward in the hours since, and it now appears that a Premier League side could be in the race to land him.

As per Football Insider, Manchester United could make a sensational move for the player if Sheikh Jassim is successful in taking charge of the club.

The Qatari has made an offer to buy United and, if successful, the report claims that he would love to bring Mbappe to Old Trafford.

Mbappe, 24, scored a remarkable 212 goals in 260 appearances for PSG across all competitions, as well as providing 98 assists.

The former Monaco man is regarded as one of the best players in the world, but he looks almost certain to leave the French capital this summer in the wake of his huge decision.

Mbappe looks set to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer

Last year, the player signed a lucrative contract extension with the Ligue 1 side which is set to run until next summer, although the deal did also include the option for Mbappe to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

The player has decided that he will not agree to the extension, although the report claims that PSG will make him a new offer in the hope of persuading him to stay put.

If an agreement cannot be reached, Mbappe is almost certain to be sold during the upcoming transfer window, with PSG reluctant to risk losing the player for free next year.

This term, Mbappe scored 41 goals in 43 matches across all competitions as well as providing ten assists, but he was unable to prevent PSG from exiting the Champions League at the last 16 stage.

Lionel Messi has already departed the club since the end of the season, with the former Barcelona man set to join MLS side Inter Miami.

United are set to be in the market for a new forward following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure last November.

The Red Devils signed Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley in January, but the Dutchman is set to return to his parent club having failed to score a single Premier League goal during his time at Old Trafford.
