3. Villa’s top-flight time is up

Struggling Aston Villa are still rotted to the bottom after they fell to a damaging 3-2 defeat at home to Watford.

No team has ever survived in the Premier league after picking up five points in their first 14 games.

No team has ever survived after collecting just five points from the opening 14 Premier League matches

Boss Remi Garde has a much tougher task than he probably first thought when he took over from Tim Sherwood at the start of November.

After an encouraging 0-0 draw at gone to Manchester City, the French boss has seen his side thrashed 4-0 at Everton and now beaten at home by the newly-promoted Hornets.

The Villans are just one of seven clubs to have played in every Premier League season, but it looks as though the 2016/17 campaign may start with them in the Championship.
