Manchester United and Tottenham are set to go head-to-head in a bid to sign Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

The Premier League duo are keen on the England Under-21 shot stopper following his impressive string of displays at Championship side Preston North End this season.

The 21-year-old, who has been loaned out to the likes of Alfreton Town, Burton Albion and Bradford City, has kept four clean sheets in 13 appearances for the Lilywhites so far this campaign.

Pickford, who has represented his country since Under-16 level, has been scouted by United officials, meanwhile fellow top-flight sides Aston Villa and Spurs are said to be interested in the young ‘keeper’s services.
