Arsenal will be looking to secure qualification for the Champions League knockout stages with a win when they host RC Lens on Wednesday evening.

Victory against the French side would see the Gunners stay at the top of their group with 12 points from five games.

However, Lens proved tricky opponents for the North London outfit as they beat the Reds 2-1 at Estadio Bollaert-Delelis last month.

Mikel Arteta’s side are currently in fine form and went to the top of the Premier League after they secured all three points against Brentford on Saturday.

Although Leandro Trossard had a goal chalked out by VAR after being ruled offside, Kai Havertz snatched the victory for the visitors in the 89th minute.

The result meant that Arsenal climbed to the top of the league table, one point above Manchester City who drew 1-1 against Liverpool earlier that day.

The game was significant for Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as he made his fifth Premier League appearance of the season, standing in for David Raya who was unable to be involved against his parent club.

However, an exit from the club in January still seems likely for the ‘keeper, who has dropped down the pecking order at The Emirates.

Ramsdale has only made five Premier League appearances following the arrival of David Raya

According to the Daily Star, Wolves are targetting Ramsdale on a ‘loan with an obligation to buy’ deal.

The report claims that Gary O’Neil’s side want to sign the England international in January but want to pay for him in the summer when they’ve raised some funds.

Ramsdale, 25, has made 86 appearances for the North Londoners since joining from Sheffield United in 2021 for a fee of around £24m.

In total, the goalkeeper has made 152 appearances in the Premier League.

However, the goalkeeper has struggled for regular playing time with the North London outfit this term after Raya joined from Brentford in the summer.

Ramsdale could leave The Emirates this winter in an attempt to go to a club where he could start every week as the number-one goalkeeper.
