Tottenham Hotspur continued their strong start to the season on Saturday by beating Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 at The Amex.

Harry Kane’s header was enough to secure all three points for The Lilywhites who remain third, just four points behind leaders Arsenal.

Antonio Conte’s side have won six of their nine Premier League games so far this season, with their north London derby defeat to The Gunners their only loss so far.

The Italian has undoubtedly had a positive impact on Spurs, and it now appears that those in charge of the club are attempting to ensure that he stays put.

As reported by Football Insider, Conte will soon be offered a lucrative new contract that could earn him as much as £20 million-per-year.

The former Chelsea boss’ current deal is due to expire at the end of the current season, but those in charge of Spurs are hopeful of persuading him to extend his stay in north London.

Conte has impressed those in charge of Spurs

Conte, 53, took charge at Spurs in November following the dismissal of Nuno Esperito Santo, but he only penned an initial 18-month deal and he is therefore set to be out of contract next summer if he doesn’t sign an extension.

It is said that he will be offered a weekly wage of £400,000, a figure that would make him the highest paid manager in the Premier League.

Spurs are believed to be confident of reaching an agreement with Conte, who guided the club to a top four spot last season after a superb run of form towards the end of the campaign.

The report suggests that Spurs are looking to have the situation resolved prior to the January transfer window.

Conte has enjoyed success throughout his managerial career, winning the Serie A title with both Inter Milan and Juventus, as well as the Premier League title and FA Cup with The Blues.

He also managed the Italian national side between 2014 and 2016, guiding them to the quarter finals of 2016.
