A number of clubs will be monitoring the situation of striker Erling Braut Haaland in the coming months, with the Norwegian’s release clause reportedly becoming active in the summer.

The Borussia Dortmund star has scored a staggering 76 times in 75 games for the Bundesliga side, having managed an equally remarkable 29 goals in 27 games for former side Red Bull Salzburg.

While his prolific record has made him one of the most wanted talents in Europe, his future is very much still up in the air at the midway point in the season, although his current side are now keen to change that.

According to The Mirror, Dortmund are very keen to ensure that the player’s future is sorted by the end of this month, in order to be able to prioritise finding a replacement for him.

While the club may be resigned to losing their star man, they have reportedly already lined up four possible candidates to potentially replace him, including Dusan Vlahovic and Karim Adeyemi, who currently stars for Haaland’s former side Salzburg.

Haaland looks set to be the subject of a bidding war in the coming months

News of Dortmund’s impatience will put Premier League clubs on high alert, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all credited with an interest in the 21-year-old.

The Norway international was reportedly a prime target of the Blues’ before they landed £100 million signing Romelu Lukaku, however recent rumours of a departure for the Belgian following his controversial interview with Italian media has once again fuelled rumours of a move for Haaland.

City, meanwhile, failed to sign Harry Kane in the summer and are yet to replace record goalscorer Sergio Aguero, meaning that a move for Haaland appears to make a lot of sense.

Rivals United are also believed to be realistic candidates for the Norwegian’s signature, with boss Ralf Rangnick having spoken personally with the player’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland.
