Manchester City face a potentially crucial game against rivals Liverpool when the Premier League returns after the international break.

The Citizens currently sit top of the table – one point and one place ahead of the Reds – and the game at The Etihad could go some way towards deciding who wins the league title.

It appears that the two clubs are also battling it out to sign a Bundesliga star, but both clubs could be left disappointed.

As per 90min, a trio of Premier League clubs are interested in Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, but are all pessimistic about their chances of landing the wing-back.

The report claims that Liverpool, Man City, and Chelsea are all sceptical about their chances of luring the Canadian away from Bavaria.

Davies has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs

Davies, 23, joined Bayern from MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps back in 2019, having made more than 80 appearances for the Canadian side.

Since arriving in Germany, Davies has played 171 times across all competitions, scoring eight times and providing 28 assists.

During his time in Munich, the defender has won 13 trophies including five Bundesliga titles and the Champions League.

He has established himself as one of the world’s best left-backs, and is a regular for both Bayern and the Canada national side.

Despite showing interest, all three Premier League clubs reportedly believe that Davies is intent on joining Spanish club Real Madrid.

The La Liga giants are also interested in the player, and it is claimed that they currently lead the race for his signature, making the Premier League sides sceptical about their chances.

Davies’ current contract with Bayern is set to expire in the summer of 2025, meaning that the German club could be forced to make a difficult decision if Real Madrid do make an offer for the player next year.
