Premier League leaders Liverpool can move a step closer to winning the title when they host Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

Arne Slot has enjoyed a sensational debut season on Merseyside so far and his side sit 11 points clear at the top of the standings, with just 11 matches remaining.

The Reds defeated reigning champions Manchester City 2-0 in their last outing, and Slot will be confident about his side’s chances of beating the Magpies on Wednesday.

Away from the action, it appears that Liverpool have been in contact with one of the surprise stars of the season so far.

According to TBR Football, the representatives of Bournemouth defender Dean Hujsen have been in contact with several clubs including Liverpool about a possible summer move.

The 19-year-old joined the Cherries from Italian giants Juventus last summer and is enjoying a fine debut season on the south coast.

Despite his side’s remarkable season so far, Slot may still look to bolster his squad this summer

The centre-back has played 23 times across all competitions this term, including 20 in the Premier League, and his impressive displays appear to have attracted significant interest from elsewhere.

It is claimed that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle, and Aston Villa are all among more than a dozen clubs that have been contacted by the player’s agents as they look to sound out interest in him.

European champions Real Madrid are also said to have shown an interest in the defender, who is under contract until the end of the 2029/30 campaign.

While Bournemouth have not revealed the release clause included in the player’s contract, the report suggests that it is in excess of £49 million.

The Cherries are said to be frustrated at the actions of the teenager’s representatives, however the club are also aware that he is likely to leave the south coast this summer.
