Stoke City have joined Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion in the hunt for Inter Milan full-back Yuto Nagatomo.

The 28-year-old, who has 81 international caps for Japan, made just 18 appearances in all competitions for Roberto Mancini’s San Siro outfit last season.

As a result of Nagatomo’s lack of first-team opportunities in Serie A, media reports in Italy suggest his days are numbered at the club following strong interest from other European clubs.

Alongside Mark Hughes’ Potters and Tony Pulis’ Baggies, Bundesliga side Schalke and fellow Serie A rivals Sampdoria have also expressed an interest in the Japanese international this summer.
