Newcastle United and Swansea City are reportedly set to go head-to-head in a bid to sign England winger Andros Townsend.
The Premier League duo, who currently sit 19th and 12th respectively in the standings, are both interested in taking the Tottenham forward on loan during the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old, who has ten international caps to his name, has played just 64 minutes of Premier League football at White Hart Lane so far this season.
With Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino still keen on a New Year move for Crystal Palace’s Yannick Bolasie; Townsend is destined to quit Tottenham over his lack of first-team action in a bid to reignite his aim of getting into national team coach Roy Hodgson’s Three Lions squad for next summer’s UEFA European Championships in France.
During the 2014-15 campaign; Townsend scored six goals in 35 appearances in all competitions for the North London outfit.
