Liverpool are reportedly monitoring the progress of Portsmouth starlet Conor Chaplin.

The Premier League giants, who currently sit ninth in the English top-flight following their 3-2 victory over Aston Villa at the weekend, have been alerted by the youngster’s impressive start to the season at Fratton Park.

The 18-year-old, who only emerged from Pompey’s youth academy last term, has already scored four goals in 10 appearances in all competitions for Paul Cook’s League Two outfit this campaign.

The Worthing-born star, who most notably scored the winner in Portsmouth’s League Cup victory over Championship side Derby County back in August, has drawn scouts from Anfield down to the south-coast in regards to a January move.
