Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes is reportedly set for a January move back to Spain.

The 33-year-old, who has 21 international caps for Spain, joined the 13-time Premier League champions back in January earlier this year, signing an 18-month contract having left FC Barcelona.

However; Valdes has made just one English top-flight appearance under Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal since the New Year and is destined to return to La Liga by sealing a free transfer to Espanyol.

Seemingly fourth choice ‘keeper at Old Trafford this term; behind David de Gea, Sergio Romero and Sam Johnstone, the Spain shot stopper reportedly fell out with manager Van Gaal after he accused the player of not bothering to play in a reserve team fixture back in July.
