Chelsea will be hoping to score for the first time in five matches when they face Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

The Blues have endured a dismal season so far and currently sit 11th in the Premier League table, four places and seven points behind The Seagulls.

Caretaker manager Frank Lampard is yet to see his side score a goal, with the ex-England captain having overseen defeats to both Wolves and Real Madrid so far.

Despite spending more than £500 million on 15 new signings since taking charge of the club last year, owner Todd Boehly looks set to be busy in the transfer market once again this summer.

The Blues will undoubtedly have to sell a number of their current players in order to trim their squad size and adhere to Financial Fair Play regulations, but there could also be more new arrivals at Stamford Bridge.

According to Football Insider, Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier is determined to leave the club this summer amid ongoing interest from The Blues.

Meslier is reportedly keen to leave Leeds this summer

The Frenchman has been watched by Chelsea on a number of occasions this term and has reportedly decided that he wants to leave Elland Road regardless of whether or not The Whites are relegated at the end of the season.

Meslier, 23, joined Leeds on loan from French side Lorient in 2019, and made his move permanent the following year.

He has now made more than 120 appearances for his current side, keeping 30 clean sheets.

Chelsea are likely to be in the market for a new ‘keeper as they look to solve what has become a problem area.

Both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy have failed to establish themselves as the club’s first choice ‘keeper, with the pair having been rotated a number of times over the past couple of seasons.

Arrizabalaga, who has played in every one of Chelsea’s matches in 2023, has been criticised for some of his performances throughout his time at Stamford Bridge, and his form appears to have dipped once again of late after a brief run of impressive showings.

Mendy, meanwhile, hasn’t featured since the turn of the year partly due to injury, and has been linked with a move away from west London this summer.
