Newly promoted Burnley beat Watford 2-0 at Turf Moor in the Monday Night Football fixture.

Two headers either side of half-time from Jeff Hendrick and Michael Keane, their first goals of the season, sealed the win for the Clarets.

Sean Dyche’s side moved up to 13th with their second win of the season, level on points with the Hornets, who sit 11th respectively.

Arsenal put on a blistering first-half display to beat London rivals Chelsea 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium and move up to third in the Premier League table.

Alexis Sanchez put the Gunners ahead with a dinked finish, before goals from Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil after a majestic counter-attack had the game out of reach for the Blues before half-time. Arsenal made it four successive wins, whereas Chelsea are without a win in their last three and drop to eighth spot.

Manchester City maintained their 100 per cent record with a hard-fought 3-1 win over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium. Sergio Aguero had the visitors ahead after just nine minutes, but Fernando Llorente equalised shortly after with his first goal for the Welsh outfit.

Aguero put City back in front from the penalty spot, before Raheem Sterling sealed the win 13 minutes from the end. City already have a four-point gap at the top of the table, whilst Swansea are without a win since the opening day and sit down in 17th place.

Liverpool moved up to fourth spot with a 5-1 thrashing of Hull City at Anfield. Adam Lallana put the Reds ahead and the game was all but over by the half-hour mark when Ahmed Elmohamady was shown a straight red card for handball on the line, gifting James Milner a spot-kick, which he converted to double the home side’s lead.

Sadio Mane added a third, before David Meyler pulled one back after the break for the visitors. Philippe Coutinho responded immediately with a long-range strike, before another Milner spot-kick finished the scoring. Jurgen Klopp’s men make it three successive league wins, whereas the Tigers are without a win in their last four and slip to 14th.

Manchester United bounced back from two straight league defeats to thump Leicester City 4-1 at Old Trafford. An astonishing first-half saw the Red devils boast a four-goal advantage at the interval, thanks to goals from Chris Smalling, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and a first for Paul Pogba since he re-joined the club.

Demarai Gray scored a stunning strike after the break for the Foxes’ consolation, but they suffer a third defeat of the season and sit 12th, whilst United move up to sixth.

Tottenham beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at the Riverside to remain unbeaten in the league this campaign. Son Heung-min was the hero once again for Spurs as he netted a brace for the second successive game, before Ben Gibson pulled one back for Boro. Spurs move into second with a third straight win, meanwhile Boro suffer a third straight defeat and are now 16th in the standings.

AFC Bournemouth ended Everton’s unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 triumph at the Vitality Stadium. Junior Stanislas netted the only goal of the game midway through the first-half with a sublime strike from 25 yards out. The Cherries move up to 15th with a second win this season, whereas the Toffees drop to fifth place.

Crystal Palace came from 2-0 down to beat Sunderland 3-2 at the Stadium of Light. Jermain Defoe struck twice for the home side to seemingly have them in control, before Joe Ledley pulled one back for Palace. James McArthur levelled for the visitors with 15 minutes remaining, before Christian Benteke headed home the winner in stoppage time to complete a remarkable comeback.

Sunderland remain winless this season and rock-bottom of the table, whereas the Eagles move up to seventh with a third straight win.

West Ham United’s dismal start to the season continued as they were downed 3-0 by Southampton at the London Stadium on Sunday. Charlie Austin put the Saints ahead with a tidy finish and Dusan Tadic doubled it just after the hour. James Ward-Prowse sealed the win off the bench to make it two straight wins and take Saints up to ninth, whereas the Hammers suffered their fourth straight league defeat and sit in the division’s bottom three.

West Brom scored late to rescue a 1-1 draw against Stoke at the Bet365 Stadium. Joe Allen’s first goal for Stoke 17 minutes from the end looked to have won it for the Potters, but Salomon Rondon headed in an equaliser in stoppage time to deny the home side all three points. That means Stoke are still looking for their first win of the season and remain 19th, meanwhile Albion move up to tenth place.
