Interim Chelsea manager Frank Lampard will be looking to pick up his first win since returning to the club when his side face Bournemouth on Saturday.

Since taking charge of the Blues for a second time last month, the ex-England international has witnessed his side lose six consecutive matches across all competitions.

With games against Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United still to come, Lampard will be looking at the match against the Cherries as a must-win.

In the meantime, it appears that the west London outfit are eyeing a sensational move for one of the greatest players of all time.

According to Football London, The Blues are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi when he leaves the French side this summer.

The report claims that the Argentina international is set to leave Paris when his contract expires this summer, and Chelsea are one of a number of clubs interested in signing him.

Messi is said to be a target for Chelsea this summer

Last week, the forward was suspended by his current employers after taking an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia, and it appears unlikely that he will remain in the French capital beyond this summer.

Messi, 35, joined PSG from Barcelona in the summer of 2021 and has since scored 31 goals in 71 matches across all competitions, as well as providing 34 assists.

During his 17 years in the first team at Barcelona, Messi established himself as arguably the greatest player of all time.

He netted a remarkable 672 goals in 778 matches for the Spanish side, as well as registering 303 assists.

Last year, the forward lead Argentina to victory in the World Cup in Qatar, with Messi scoring twice in the final against France.

The report claim that MLS side Inter Miami, owned by former Manchester United and England star David Beckham, are also interested in signing Messi, while Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal have also been linked with the Argentine.
