Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin would prefer a move to Arsenal over Newcastle, with the two Premier League rivals both reportedly interested in the player.

The Englishman has been identified by both the Magpies and Gunners as the two sides look to recruit a striker.

Arsenal are set to lose Alexandre Lacazette this summer, and Mikel Arteta could make a move for Calvert-Lewin to replace him.

As per Football Insider, the 25-year-old is expected to leave Goodison park this summer, and the player has reportedly told friends that his preference would be to join Arsenal.

The England international missed three months of the season at the end of last year, and has therefore only made 13 Premier League appearances this term.

He has scored just three goals in that time, but is expected to leave the Toffees regardless of whether or not they are relegated.

Calvert-Lewin hasn’t scored in any of his last 11 games

Frank Lampard’s side will reportedly listen to offers for the striker this summer, as they look to raise funds to rebuild a struggling side ahead of next season.

Arsenal boss Arteta is facing the prospect of losing his only two recognised strikers, with both Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah set to be out of contract this summer.

The Spaniard is therefore looking to add at least one forward to his squad, and it appears that Calvert-Lewin is open to the idea.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is also set for another summer of spending, having spent more than £90 million in January.
