The Premier League’s biggest clubs are already planning ahead for next season, with deals already being agreed and plenty more to come.

As well as arrivals, though, there will be players leaving Premier League clubs, with a cast of big names including Paul Pogba and Antonio Rudiger set to depart Manchester United and Chelsea respectively as free agents in the coming weeks.

As well as players whose contracts are expiring, there will also undoubtedly be some big names departing before the end of their deals.

Below, we take a look at some of the biggest stars who could be leaving the Premier League this summer.

Sadio Mane

Unfortunately for Liverpool fans, Mane’s future looks almost certain to be away from Merseyside. The Senegalese forward has decided he wants to leave Anfield in search of a new challenge according to Diario AS, and German champions Bayern Munich are believed to be the player’s most likely destination. If he does depart, the 30-year-old will leave a legacy to be proud of having scored 145 goals and won six trophies during his time in English football.

Marcos Alonso

Alonso is believed to be close to joining Barcelona

If left-back Alonso is to depart Chelsea this summer, it will certainly divide opinion among the Blues’ fanbase. The Spaniard has often been criticised for his defensive capabilities, but has scored important goals for the club during his six years in London. As per Fabrizio Romano via SportsMole, the full-back has agreed terms with Barcelona and is now just waiting on the La Liga side agreeing a fee with his current employers. Alonso will leave Stamford Bridge having made more than 200 appearances for the Blues.

Ilkay Gundogan

It was Ilkay Gundogan’s late heroics that crowned Manchester City as Premier League champions for the sixth time on the final day of the season, but it appears that the German could be on his way out of the club in the coming weeks. As per The Manchester Evening News, City boss Pep Guardiola is willing to let the 31-year-old leave The Etihad a year before his contract expires. The former Borussia Dortmund man has enjoyed six successful years in Manchester, making more than 250 appearances for the club and winning no fewer than 11 trophies. Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are listed as one of the favourites to land Gundogan if he does depart City.

Raphinha

Raphinha is a target for Barcelona

Brazilian forward Raphinha was crucial to Leeds United ensuring their top flight status for another season, but it appears that the Whites may now face a battle to keep hold of their talisman. According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the 25-year-old has his heart set on a move to La Liga giants Barcelona. The report claims that the player is waiting for the club to make an offer for him, amid rumours that the Catalan side cannot afford to purchase the player. The Leeds star would have been available for a cut-price fee if they had been relegated due to a release clause in his current deal, but Leeds are now holding out for more than double the £25 million that Barcelona value the player at. The player’s agent has reportedly agreed terms with the Spanish side.

With the transfer officially opening in less than two weeks, speculation will only continue to build surrounding the futures of several Premier League stars. With some of Europe’s biggest clubs circling, it appears likely that some stars will leave the Premier League before the start of next term.
