Almost a year on from the date they lost 4-2 on the south coast, Manchester City return to Southampton looking to get their first win over the Saints since 2015.

The Sky Blues were held to a 1-1 draw at The Etihad earlier this season after John Stones gifted winger Nathan Redmond an opener.

Pep Guardiola’s side, coming into the clash off the back of their 3-1 over Hull City, will be looking to close in on third-placed Liverpool whilst distancing themselves from fierce rivals Manchester United in fifth.

It’s been a mixed season for Claude Puel’s side in the Frenchman’s first foray into Premier League football, an up and down season and early exit from Europe has been balance by the club’s first appearance in a major final since 2003, although they lost to Manchester United in the League Cup final.

With the Saints looking for another strong finish to the Premier League season, Puel will be looking to in-form playmaker Dusan Tadic to get things going, whilst his counterpart on the visitors bench will be hoping Raheem Sterling can build on his two assists against the Tigers and put in another strong performance.

The pair have been plying their trade in the Premier League for a few years now, but how do they compare this season? Have a look…
