At last, the Premier League returns this weekend and it is back in fine style, as week look to the north west for the Merseyside Derby.
Liverpool host fierce rivals Everton in Saturday’s early kick-off as both side look to improve their stance in their respective races for European spots.
Jurgen Klopp’s side currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, however, with both Arsenal and Manchester United (fifth and sixth) having two games in hand, a win is imperative.
The Toffees are sat in seventh level with sixth placed Arsenal on 50 points, although the Gunners also have two games in hand on Ronald Koeman’s men, and will want to keep the pressure up on the north Londoners.
With such huge bragging rights also on the line, both managers will be looking to their key men to step up. In the absence of England international Adam Lallana, Klopp could turn to summer signing Georgino Wijnaldum to make an impact.
