Championship side Luton Town have completed the signing of former Chelsea winger Victor Moses.

The Hatters announced on Tuesday that they had signed the Nigerian on a free transfer following his departure from Russian side Spartak Moscow at the end of last term.

The 33-year-old had spent four years in Russia, having initially joined on loan from Chelsea in 2020 before making his move permanent the following year.

In total Moses played 84 times for Spartak, scoring ten goals and providing the same amount of assists.

During his time with Chelsea, Moses enjoyed huge success and won no fewer than four major trophies, including two Premier League titles and the Europa League.

Moses joined the Blues from Wigan Athletic for a fee of £9 million back in 2012 but spent time on loan at both Liverpool and West Ham United before establishing himself as a regular at Stamford Bridge.

He ultimately went on to make 128 appearances for the West London outfit, scoring 18 times and registering 12 assists.

Moses won the Premier League title twice during his time at Chelsea

He was particularly impressive during the 2016/17 Premier League winning season under Antonio Conte, when he was primarily used as a right wing-back and played an instrumental role in the Blues’ title success.

After falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge, Moses went on to spend time on loan at both Fenerbahce, Inter Milan and Spartak Moscow before departing permanently to join the latter in 2021.

Luton boss Rob Edwards will be hoping that Moses’ experience can help his side return to the top flight at the first time of asking, following their relegation from the Premier League last term.

The 38-time Nigeria international will wear the number seven shirt for the Hatters.
