Leicester City host Chelsea knowing a win will take them back to the top of the Premier League and 20 points clear of the defending champions.

If anyone had said that the Foxes would be this far in ahead of the Blues after 15 matches then they would’ve been laughed at.

But Claudio Ranieri, who had a four-year spell as Chelsea boss, has maintained the club’s fantastic form from the back end of last season, winning nine, drawing five and losing just one of their league matches to date.

After scoring a hat-trick against Swansea last time out, Riyad Mahrez, with 11, and Jamie Vardy, with 14, have netted 25 of their club’s 32 goals and sit joint-third and top respectively in the scoring charts.

Despite having a poor campaign to date, which sees them sit just a point above the drop zone following their shock 1-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth, Leicester will be very aware that Chelsea have the squad to turn their season around.

Last time the Blues travelled to the King Power in April, they recorded a 3-1 win to take them to within one victory of securing the Premier League title.

This year though, Jose Mourinho’s side have amazingly lost eight of their 15 games to date, winning just four, and have scored 15 less than their hosts.

Away from Stamford Bridge, the West London side have only one once – a 3-2 victory at West Brom back in September.

However, Chelsea have won the last eight meetings between the two, scoring 25, and have kept four clean sheets in their last five matches in all competitions.

Team News:

Nathan Dyer returns to the Leicester squad after he was ineligible against his parent club Swansea last weekend.

Ritchie de Laet (ankle) is still sidelined, while Matt James (match fitness) will also sit out.

The visitors could be unchanged from the side which beat FC Porto 2-0 on Wednesday.
