Swansea and Everton have both made very promising starts to the campaign.
The Swans were unbeaten before a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Watford last weekend, whilst the Toffees sit above their opponents on goal difference after Steven Naismith’s hat-trick saw off Chelsea at Goodison Park.
It should come as no surprise that Garry Monk sets up his team in a similar way to that of Roberto Martinez as the Everton manager made the Swans boss his captain while in charge of the Welsh club back in 2007.
The hosts head into this fixture in fine health with only a small doubt over Jefferson Montero, who has been slightly troubled with a hamstring injury.
Andre Ayew will look to add to the three goals that led to him being named as the August Premier League Player of the Month, whilst Bafetimbi Gomis is another who has started this season in fine with Watford being the only match he’s failed to get on the score-sheet.
For the Blues, Martinez currently has eight players on the treatment table which takes a slight edge over what has otherwise been a terrific few weeks.
Muhamed Besic is doubtful but, even if he is fit, last week’s hat-trick hero, Naismith, will keep his place after replacing the Bosnian.
Ramiro Funes Mori could be handed his first start if Seamus Coleman cannot recover from his hamstring strain, while Darron Gibson could earn a spot on the bench after playing 75 minutes for the Under-21s on Monday.
Leighton Baines, Tom Cleverly, Bryan Oviedo and Steven Pienaar are all still out.
