Watford host West Ham with both teams coming into the game with their tails well and truly up.

The Hornets’ 2-0 win at Stoke last week puts them safely in mid-table, while the Hammers proudly sit in third place in a campaign that must have their fans in dreamland.

Watford’s problem has been consistency and a home form which has only seen them win once in front of their own fans, but a consecutive win, and just a second in 23 attempts against the Irons, would be a massive boost to their Premier League credentials.

Tory Deeney was impressive as he grabbed his first top flight goal last week, while Odion Ighalo, who has five to his name, took a break from scoring to provide two assists.

While the two front men have grabbed all the headlines, the backline of Watford have gone about their business quietly and efficiently. Only four other sides have conceded less goals than Quique Flores’ men with Craig Cathcart being particularly impressive.

West Ham will make the short journey to Vicarage Road looking to maintain their terrific away form.

Slaven Bilic’s side have picked up 13 points from a possible 15 on the road and have already beaten Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool on their travels.

Andy Carroll scored the winner against Chelsea last week and he boosts Bilic’s options up front in what is an already strong forward line.

Fellow striker Diafra Sakho has led the line well but it’s midfielder Dimitri Payet who has really caught the eye.

The Frenchman already has five goals and three assists in 10 matches and looks like he belongs at the very top.

For the hosts, Flores has no new injury concerns and Jose Jurado may get some game time after returning to training.

West Ham’s James Collins was immense last week against the Blues but could find himself on the bench if Winston Reid can recover from his hip injury in time.

Alex Song still remains out but United will be confident they can maintain their best ever Premier League start.
